Help with FrameSense

Support

For help with FrameSense, use the common questions below or contact support by email.

When contacting support, include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, FrameSense version and a short description of the issue.

Why does FrameSense ask for Photos access?

FrameSense needs Photos access to build and display slideshows from the photos, videos and albums you choose. Optional Smart Fill, Reframe and metadata overlays also work with information from those selected items.

How do I change Photos access?

Open the iOS or iPadOS Settings app, find FrameSense and change the Photos permission. When limited access is selected, only approved items will be available to the app.

Why is an iCloud photo or video taking time to appear?

The item may need to be downloaded by Apple Photos before FrameSense can display it. Confirm that the device is online and that the item opens normally in the Photos app.

Why does FrameSense ask for HomeKit access?

HomeKit access is optional. It is used only when Home controls are enabled so selected scenes and accessories can be shown and controlled from the slideshow.

Why does FrameSense ask for Local Network access?

Local Network access is optional. It is used by the remote dashboard so one device running FrameSense can discover and control nearby frame devices on the same network.

What does PIN protection do?

When PIN protection is enabled, a new remote device must enter the six-digit PIN shown in the frame device’s settings before it can control that frame.

What is contained in an exported preset?

An exported preset contains playback and overlay settings. It does not contain photos, videos, album contents, source selections, HomeKit selections or remote-control PINs.

Does FrameSense upload my photos?

No. FrameSense does not upload photos or videos to a server operated by the developer.

Does FrameSense track me?

No. FrameSense does not use advertising tracking, third-party analytics or App Tracking Transparency.

How do I revoke access or disable remote control?

You can change Photos, Home or Local Network access in the iOS or iPadOS Settings app. Remote control can also be disabled inside FrameSense under Settings → Controls.
