Privacy Policy

FrameSense does not collect, sell or share personal data. The app does not use ads, third-party analytics, tracking SDKs or user accounts.

About FrameSense

FrameSense is a personal photo-frame app for iPhone and iPad. It displays slideshows from photos you choose, supports very large photo libraries, can use on-device Vision processing for Smart Fill and Reframe, can show optional date and location overlays from photo metadata, can import and export display presets, can optionally expose selected HomeKit controls and can optionally let another device running FrameSense control nearby frames on your local network.

Photos

FrameSense requests access to your photo library so it can:

Display selected photos and videos in slideshows.
Run optional on-device Vision processing for Smart Fill and Reframe.
Read capture-date and embedded-location metadata for optional overlays.
Apply user-requested actions such as Favourite, rotation and Review Later.

Your photos are accessed on your device through Apple’s Photos framework. Smart Fill and Reframe processing happens on device. FrameSense does not upload your photos, videos, albums, Vision analysis or photo metadata to a server operated by the developer.

HomeKit

FrameSense requests HomeKit access only if you enable Home controls. HomeKit access is used to show and control the homes, scenes and accessories you select inside the app.

Home data is accessed through Apple’s HomeKit framework. FrameSense does not upload your HomeKit configuration or accessory state to a developer-operated server.

Local Network Remote Control

FrameSense requests local-network access only when remote control is enabled or when a device is browsing for nearby frames. Remote control uses Apple’s local networking frameworks to discover FrameSense devices on the same local network and exchange slideshow state and user-requested commands.

Remote control may exchange the frame name, connection status, playback state, current-slide title or subtitle, battery and charging state, small current-slide and mosaic thumbnails, mosaic action state, available presets and requested control commands.

Remote-control data is exchanged between your devices on the local network. FrameSense does not send this data to a developer-operated server. Remote sessions request encryption through Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework.

If you enable Require PIN to connect, new remote devices must enter the six-digit PIN shown in the frame device’s remote-control settings before they can control that frame.

Preset Import and Export

FrameSense can save playback and overlay settings as a custom preset. You can export saved presets through the system share sheet and import .framesensepreset files on another device.

Preset files contain playback and overlay preferences only. They do not contain photos, videos, album contents, selected photo sources, HomeKit selections, remote-control PINs or account data.

Location Metadata and Maps

If you enable location overlays, FrameSense may use location metadata embedded in your photos to display place names or a small map preview. This uses Apple system services such as reverse geocoding and MapKit snapshots.

FrameSense does not request your live device location and does not track where you are.

Smart Fill and Reframe

Smart Fill and Reframe use Apple’s on-device Vision framework to help place photos on screen while preserving important visual regions. This processing is used only for display and local cache data. You can choose a cache limit or clear the cache from the app’s settings.

This analysis is not used to identify people, create profiles or send photo analysis to a developer-operated server.

Data Stored on Your Device

FrameSense stores app settings on your device, including slideshow preferences, selected source identifiers, overlay settings, saved presets, Home control selections, remote-control settings, a stable local remote-control host identifier, rejected slideshow item identifiers and local cache data used to improve slideshow performance.

You can remove this data by deleting the app from your device.

Third Parties

FrameSense uses Apple system frameworks such as Photos, HomeKit, MapKit, Vision and SwiftUI. It does not include third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if FrameSense’s features or data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
